You know it’s funny, I’ve not even gotten the site back up on it’s feet and I’m posting the fun stuff. This post is partly a taste of what may become of the homepage of frayedwires: geek news, reviews, my opinons and cool software. Let’s jump into that.

    Why Mac is awesome

    Little apps like Disco:
It's Burning!     It’s a CD burning app that smokes when you’re burnin’. It also responds to mouse movements as if it were smoke and you were moving your hand over the smoke: it moves. It’s such a neat app. For those of you who’ve actually heard of this before, I’ve not had a machine that could handle the smoke effects until now ;-)
Now for a bit of information about the site. I’ve put up these google ads so I can get some moola (hopefully). So click those darn links, search over there on the left, and download firefox via the link all the way at the bottom of the page. Also, we are now running on Wordpress 2.1. It’s pretty cool.
Also, a quick random link: Twitter. Tell the world what your currently doing. Check out the bottom of the sidebar to get an example of what I’m doing right now

ROTTEN TOMATOES: Movies and Games, Reviews and Previews

I don’t know how many know about this site, but it’s great for finding movies to rent or go see on a rainy day. Has a sense of humor, which is always good, uses “Tomatometer” to measure how fresh a movie is. Sometimes I wonder about some of their ratings (“Dave Chappelle’s Block Party” has 93% freshness, though i’ve heard that it’s not too good) but it’s been recommended by many. So before you rent, go see, or *coughcoughillegallydownloadcoughcough* a movie, check out RottenTomatoes.com

Am obviously back from the beach, was fun. Pictures somewhere on the site soon. They want me to make a slideshow of it. Probably throw that on when I make it. Want to redesign the site, too lazy. calendar.frayedwires.com has my schedule, even right, though the issue is it doesn’t have the calendars selected by default. Kill it.

If only someone could design a theme for me…

For those of you that haven’t been around my site and seen my links, I have a stories section now, which i occasionaly write in. check out stories.frayedwires.com

    Hello Dolly…

    Friday, May 19th, 2006

OK first off black macbooks. Still want macbook pros over macbooks. nuff said.

What’s up all? I’m gonna try to do a train of thought type entry here. Twill be interesting. School today, boring as ever. May be building a new machine and selling current one to a teacher. OH! you guys should check this out: Skype offers free US and Canadian phone calls ’till end of year. Pretty crazy. If you have a microphone and high speed on your computer then you should definetly call someone with it. Go ahead.

The blog has risen again. Tempted to make from scratch a new template for this place. Want to find a way to change the header image for the time of day. Or just an easier way to change it to what I want. Good ol server, I like having my own. So cool.

Anyways later, wondering if anyone ya know reads this since it’s inactivity.

    Goodness Gracious….

mooFlyAKiteOSX Some people really go outta there way to have a mac without actually buying one. This is an insane project called Flyakite OS X, and they’ve just released version 3 of their bundlement of software that makes windows look like one of the best Mac OS X clones out there. And incredible

wow This is INSANE. It even has the “baseball” wireless signal sign, and it works. The whole outfit is made out of multiple programs used in harmony to create the OS X experince.

The people are even crazy enough to make their site act like OS X. It boots up and everything. It’s really incredible the detail they have. I commend them on the huge effort it must’ve taken to get this up and running. Good Job!

In other news for the mac’s among us, i’m being distracted by the next thing i’m gonna talk about: tickr for flickr. Search for tags in flickr and they scroll wherever you want them till they run out. It’s amazingly awesome.

Finally, i’d like to get your opinion on something: should i make a separate blog just for my geek stuff, and try to keep this blog more generally general? I’d appreciate any feedback on that matter, the comments or email will be fine.

And how can you live without tabs?
